Welcome to Coffee Mugs and Big Hugs

Welcome to Coffee Mugs & Big Hugs

I’m just a girl, standing in front of another girl, wanting to encourage her. To tell her she’s beautiful, even if her hair hasn’t been brushed in a few days, even with the baby vomit on her shoulder, even with the spinach in her teeth, and/or in whatever stage of life she is in. This is what has sparked this blogging adventure.

I am blessed to be married for 28 years, have 4 adult children ( 2 & 2),and 3 fur children (all boys). I graduated from college at the age of 45, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Living the almost-empty nester life. My youngest is 21 years old. Yikes! I fill my day serving my church in the office.

I hope to share all things women, marriage, parenting, relationships, Jesus, books, love, and laughter. Notice, Jesus is at the center of it all. I am stoked to have you by my side for this gig we call “life”. I live in a suburban neighborhood in the heart of Central California, Fresno. I love banana milkshakes (hello, Sonic half-price shakes!), Otis Redding’s kisses (my Shih Tzu fur baby), dancing in the kitchen, laughing at silly things, breaking out into song in the middle of a conversation (mostly 80s songs or old movies), and I’m digging the Enneagram biz and my 7-ness. I am stretching myself to create, with a new found love for writing. I believe age is just a number, it’s all about how we feel in our heart and soul. I so don’t feel my age or act my age at times. Also, I am pretty sure I can beat you in a sneezing contest.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tammy

  • A Well Check-Up for My Marriage?

    July 27, 2019 by

Eric and I are were sitting across each other at the table, gazing into each other’s eyes and completing the statement, “How do I love thee, let me count thy ways….” Nah, who does that? That is like romance on steroids. A bit over the top for me. Actually, we decided to visit a Mexican… Read more

Moms, sometimes we find out about things our young adult kids have done or choices they have made with a particular event; after said event has happened, mind you. May 23, 2019 by

Life can be messy at times, right? Along with the mess or chaos we find at home with toys, dishes, kids, or whatever seems to pile up, life can get messy with circumstances, such as divorce, changes in family dynamics, illness, single parenthood, or maybe just being single in the hood. Yes, these times, whether… Read more

  • Kindness is a Superpower

    May 7, 2019 by

We’ve grown up watching superheroes on Saturday morning cartoons with our bowl of cereal at the coffee table, while donning our best superhero jammies. We played with superhero figurines with the neighbor kids or with our imaginations in our bedrooms. Wonder Woman. Bat Girl. Black Widow. Super Girl. And most recently Captain Marvel. If you’ve… Read more
